Andy Roddick beat Marc Gicquel, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the second week of the French Open for the first time in his career.

The #4-seed on the women's side, Elena Dementieva, also lost, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1, to Samantha Stosur.

Why?
I'm not a fan of his, but I think he handles himself with class.

The #3 seed is gone. Andy Murray lost to Fernando Gonzalez, 6-3, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4.
After beating world #1 Rafael Nadal, Robin Soderling follows it up with straight set win over Nikolay Davydenko, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1.
Victoria Azarenka took Dinara Safina to a 3-setter, but the #1 player would prevail, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Maria Sharapova's comeback is over as Dominika Cibulkova took her out in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.

Well, he's done it.
He's now tied Pete Sampras in all-time major slam wins at 14, but I think more importantly for him, he finally wins the one title he hasn't won--the French Open.
It took just 3 sets, 6-1, 7-6, 6-4, for Federer to beat Robin Soderling.
