It's not just this game. It's historically. We're more predictable than Christmas, short pass first down, run on second, short pass on third. The play-book has not changed one bit. We haven't had an offense worth a crap since 2005, the only one really since 1994. The defense is the only reason we can even stay in the games. He never goes for the home-run. We went for it like twice and they both gave us good results. Yes, it doesn't work all the time, but it doesn't result in a INT every time it doesn't work. We never go for it on 4th down much. There are at least 20 situations we should have gone for it when we punted or tried a FG. We tried it once today, that worked. We could afford to try starting a Freshman for once. I haven't seen Fera yet, but I can tell he's better than Wagner is. While it wouldn't matter, that missed FG absolutely killed us. Newsome is better than Clark, start him. Please. And start Eric Shrive. The O-Line will never improve, and we can get experience in there so we don't have to see that many jail-breaks up front next year. When we have a good recruiting class, you should utilize it. This is the 2000's Joe, get out of the 60's. And the scheduling. Quit scheduling the teams of the past. We can't keep beating them and expect to get any respect now-a-days. Temple, Syracuse, Maryland are not the same teams they used to be, quit scheduling them. We could have won this game if we bothered to schedule someone who could help us improve, but we don't even deserve a ranking, so why bother. Why did you join the Big Ten, no respect anymore, no more Pitt rivalry, and worse recruiting classes. Money, money, money. And I'm sick of being owned by the likes pf Michigan, and Iowa. It simply amazes me that we can lose to a team so much. It isn't a matter of players, but a matter of coaching break-downs. We had the better team in 2005, 2007 but couldn't capitalize because of the coaching. We were out-coached. FOR 9 STRAIGHT YEARS. And getting owned by Iowa. Iowa. Freaking Iowa. The state that I doubt can even spell a word longer than "Hawkeye." Kirk Frentz or whatever his name is is not a good coach at all. How we can be out-coached by him is just incredibly sad. We had a better team than him almost every year, and we just fall-apart. Chalk this one up to coaching, because we were WAY too conservative on Saturday. And this man started Morelli. Any coach who does that deserves to be fired on the spot. This season is THE rebirth of 2007, and I'm not happy about it. Joe needs to bench Clark if he doesn't have a good game against Illinois. I want to see 50 points on Illinois and 200 on Eastern Illinois, to show we have an offense against SOMEONE. And discipline your players. While it probably won't stop them from getting in trouble, it sets an example that if you do, you're not playing football. And running up the score. Please, don't take the pedal off in the second quarter. It's Iowa, run the score up, they ruined our chance to be shut-out in the NC game.
And I don't care what he did with us here, I don't care how good he made, how he changed the town, how he put us on the map, GET AN OFFENSIVE COACH ALREADY.
Knee-Jerk reaction, I see. Same thing I did with Tressel after the 'SC game. And how do you know Newsome is better then Clark?
Clark throws at the ground all the time. He had at least 7 in the ground, and never runs when he can. The WRs are playing more straight-up since Clark won't just take off anymore, just like they did woth Morelli.

Concerning the longest post....my SB Day post was 365 words yours was 600...exactly 600. So yes longest post ever.
Secondly, I think there's the same kind of thing going down in Columbus. I assume everyone except Max saw the Illinois game and I think we can all agree outside after the half it was like watching scarlet and gray paint dry. Screen pass for a gain, weak off tackle to the side, weak off tackle up the middle, punt if no first down, add conversions, fumbles, interceptions, and the occasional play outside the Tressle-sphere. Out defense is great, they beat USC, but Pryor and the offense are scared to los the ball, the obvious work of Tressle. Now the obvious thing to do is compare our offensive strategy to the Big 12, SEC, Pac 10. The thing is we can't compete with those sophisticated spread option offenses anymore. But, wait it gets better, one of our own Big Ten teams is starting to transition into the future...Michigan. With Rich Rod coming in and a outstanding quarterback like Frocier, I give Michigan 5-6 years before the have thier formula down and start winning the big games again. Heck, I bet Michigan WILL win the big games this year. Bottomline GET AN OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR. We can't have the vest singlehandedly let one of the greatest football programs of all time fall behind more than we already are. Tressel's conservative play calling is a thing of the past, and so is his role calling the shots.

@ Dan's post: It was rainy and Pryor isn't that good of a passer when it is dry so I think Tressell/Bollman were trying just play to the weather. Our offense doesn't need to be top notch when we have a defense like we have. Pryor seriously needs to stop trying to make a big play out of nothing. I mean just fall forward and get 3 yards.
