Northern Arizona had a scandal in 1987 where they paid all of the cheerleaders to do a very nasty cheer against the opposing team, Eastern Washington. No one on campus or at Eastern Washington was offended. Except for stupid Rachel Ray. She was at the game and was doing a special on how to cook and smell like salami in front of D-1 schools. But as the words, "Eastern Washington watches Rachel Ray, and we don't because we are not bad" were spoken, she immediaely called up the Arizona mayor and complained. The Mayor was drunk, so he misheard the complaint as, "Northern Arizona cheerleaders ate the last cheese in Texas." So he banned North Arizona cheerleading for the rest of the 87 season. The Northern Arizona cheerleading and football team and college was never the same.
