There is a part of me that would want it to change to a playof but then how would you fit in all of the other bowl games like the Capital-One Bowl. Would you just eliminate them? I hinestly think most of these bowl games are stupid. They are basically set up for the smaller schools who can't get into a big bowl game. This is another reason why a playoff would be good though. It would give teams like Boise State and TCU a shot to really prove themselves and get a chance at the title game. If I had to choose I would go with the playoff system. It would add some historic games and there would be some interesting matchups.
Top 8 teams in the nation according to the BCS standings at the Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Sugar, Orange, Capital One, and then again a second time at one of the bowls (like the Rose this year for the Championship).
How many automatic qualifiers?
None, only those that are in the Top 8. No one wants to see a five-loss ACC champion in the playoff that got in because of a weak conference
What would be the criteria to qualify?
Be in the Top 8
What would be the criteria for seedings?
BCS Standings
Where would the games be played?
See answer #1
When would the games be played?
Round 1: December 31 - January 1 Round 2: January 6-7 National Championship: January 18
Turn the 32 bowl games into 18 (excluding the playoffs) and make bowl eligibility to winning 7 games
If you could resolve all that would everyone be satisfied? Yes, more money, more excitement, great games
